Introduction to Gotypefast - a Tool to help you Type Faster and with Fewer Spelling Mistakes

I developed this tool to help my teenage sons draft their assignments and articles. I had seen the Autosuggestion tools on the Google and Bing search boxes and I wondered whether a similar tool could be developed for a simple online word processor.

After a lot of research and effort I managed to find a way of doing it. I also wanted the tool to be very comprehensive and cover most of the common words in the English language. I collected words from various sources and developed list of more than 13,000 words for both British and American spellings.

After various trials I decided that the 'in-line' way of presenting the suggested complete word was the best as it was faster than the 'pop-up' method where the user is offered the choice in a small box and has to click to select the option. This is much slower as it requires the user to stop typing and use the mouse.







The programming for using the tool to edit the words in the article is very complex and may be added in a later version. I have added on online text editor in the second box where you can copy what you have drafted and format the text and generally improve your appearance. Youc an also copy the text and paste it into you preferred word processor.
